It is with great sadness that we learned that former New Zealand Hockey Player Margaret Hiha has passed away. Hiha represented New Zealand internationally and served as a coach, selector and administrator. She initiated the first National Maori Hockey Tournament in 1992. Our thoughts go out to her family. | | |

| | | In April, we were scheduled to host the annual Hockey New Zealand Awards Dinner, but as you all know Covid-19 hit and put a stop to hosting events. Don't worry, we haven't forgotten the awards and we most definitely haven't forgotten those who need and should be recognised for their work in 2019. Following a consultation with the Master's community, Hockey New Zealand has made the necessary decision that all the New Zealand Masters teams will be withdrawn from the 2021 World Cups. While it is disappointing to come to this conclusion, with the uncertainty around travel restrictions and safety due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we have needed to look after all our players, coaches and management. | | |

| INDOOR HOCKEY WORLD CUP DELAYED | |

| Due to the global COVID-19 pandemic still going on, the International Hockey Federation (FIH) and the Belgian Hockey Association have jointly decided to postpone the upcoming FIH Indoor Hockey World Cup - initially scheduled to be played in February 2021 - to 2-6 February 2022, in order to maximise the athletes’ and fans’ experience. |
